Activision Developing Candy Crush Like Revenue Method
Activision bought UK base game candy crush for $5.9 in 2016 and now have learned better revenue modal from them. Candy crush is famous puzzle game and its free to play. They have boosters and other goodies that can be bought later and can help to pass the levels that cany crush have.
Traditionally console games like GTA and call of duty get revenue from selling game instart and after they have very things to sell. Well candy crush main revenue is from after users download. And they buy booster any time may be after 1 year if they want.
Console games have much more budget than the puzzle game. There game some time download illegally. EA also focusing more in selling points like FIFA ultimate for mobile is free but player buy points. So it looks like these companies realize that its better to foucs more for revenue later after game download or sale.
