Jet2's Summer 2018 programme will include flights to Verona

Jet2 announces new Italian route at Manchester Airport in ‘biggest summer programme yet’

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are expanding at Manchester Airport with a new Italian route and additional aircraft.

The leisure airline and package holiday company said it will offer an extra 90k seats in its Summer 2018 programme, which will see the firm flying between Manchester and Verona for the first time.

Jet2 will support the growth with an additional 327-seat Airbus A330 as it carries North West holidaymakers to more than 42 summer beach and city destinations, including Fuerteventura, Zante, Reus and Rome.

Steve Heapy, chief exec of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “This will be our biggest summer programme yet from Manchester Airport, with more seats and hotels than ever through our award-winning airline and holiday operator.

“On top of that, the addition of an Airbus A330 means we have more seats to our best-selling destinations, giving holidaymakers more choice than ever.”

He continued: “Such sustained growth is only possible by looking after our customers, which shows that our continued investment into offering great value package holidays and family friendly flights is working.

“By continuing to grow across all of our bases, including established ones such as Manchester, this proves that our formula is the right one.”

Manchester Airport commercial director Stephen Turner said: “We’re delighted to see Jet2.com and Jet2holidays continuing to grow at Manchester Airport for summer 2018.

“With 42 routes they offer our passengers a fantastic range of destinations.

“Verona is a great addition to their network and a destination that we know is hugely popular with the people in our catchment area. As well as a fantastic city break, it also acts as the gateway to the nearby Lake Garda.”
