International wins help Newcastle creative agency leave startup stage behind
Newcastle-based creative agency Double Concentrate has revealed how new international client wins have helped the firm grow from startup phase to an established digital player in the region.
Established three years ago, the business is aiming to post £500k in annual billings this year and has added three new members to its team after winning deals with New York-based tech specialists Mobicast and Norwegian broadcast company Vimond.
Specialising in brand-centred digital design, the firm has made senior hires in Gareth Howells as group creative director and Paul Marrin as chief operations officer.
Meanwhile, Katie Winter has joined the team of designers at the agency, which has recently relocated to new offices at the Toffee Factory in Newcastle.
Creative Director Andy Kilburn said: “In the last six months, we have made a proactive effort to expand the business considerably its great to see the plans coming off. Making hires with the calibre of Gareth and Paul shows we’re intent on maintaining this upward path.
“Adding to the core team of creative and designers was the next logical step. We now have an exciting, diverse and creative team that are inspiring to be around on a daily basis.”
Howells, who previously founded and headed up his own agency Newhaven Communications, will be dividing his time between Newcastle and Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, 38-year-old Marrin, from Durham will be heading up Double Concentrate’s new business development with a particular focus on its heartland in the North East. He arrives with a rich history of sales and business development in the leisure industry.
Andy Kilburn added: “With growth in the US and in other parts of the globe, we actually have very few clients here in the North East and that’s something we’re determined to change.
“It feels like such an exciting time to be a part of what is a fantastic creative and digital scene here in the North East. We want to be a part of that and want to work with more people in this region. “
