Building firm Manchester & Cheshire Construction on course for record £15m turnover
North West building firm Manchester & Cheshire Construction is on track to grow its revenues by over 20% to a record £15m this financial year.
The Salford-based company has completed £8m worth of projects and has an order book of £6m.
In the 12 months to September 30, MC Construction’s revenues rose 17% from £10.4m to £12.2m. Now, the business is on course to achieve its eighth consecutive year of growth.
According to managing director David Lowe, family-owned MC Construction is due to hit its goal turnover of £20m by 2018.
A highlight of the 2015/16 financial year was the company’s new alliance with Chinese developer Chongqing Jinstar Real Estate Development Company to acquire sites across Greater Manchester for residential schemes.

MC Construction was also reappointed to University of Manchester and Royal Mail frameworks.
This year, the business is due to complete its biggest single contract to date – an £8m refurbishment of the University of Manchester’s Samuel Alexander Building and a £2.3m overhaul of the Houldsworth student accommodation block.
Additionally, the company was the main contractor for a £1.3m scheme that doubled the size of a GP surgery in north Manchester.
Managing director David Lowe said: “After a strong performance in 2015/16 we have further accelerated our growth during this financial year by competing successfully for larger projects.
“We have strengthened our company structure with the appointment of Michelle Richardson to the new role of operations director, and we’ve invested a significant sum to improve efficiency by migrating our IT systems to the cloud.”
He added: “With a healthy order book, we are well-placed to achieve our target for this financial year and look forward to the future with confidence.”
