Jet2 prepares for busy summer with new Airbus A330 at Manchester Airport
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are preparing for a busy summer with the addition of a new Airbus A330 to their fleet at Manchester Airport.
The airline and package holiday provider said the new 327-seat aircraft will enable it to offer more passenger spaces and ramp up capacity to support its biggest lineup of summer holidays and flights to date.
Leased from aerospace firm AirTanker, the widebody plane is making its first flight this week (May 18) to Lanzarote.
The aircraft will be used for some of Jet2’s most popular routes at Manchester Airport, including Majorca, Rhodes and Tenerife.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate across 41 destinations from Manchester this Summer, including newly added holiday hotspots in Costa de Almeria and Halkidiki.
In total, the company will undertake over 400 flights each week during peak periods.
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays CEO Steve Heapy said: “Summer 2017 is shaping up to be our biggest ever from Manchester Airport so the addition of this widebody Airbus A330 will help us add more capacity to our best-selling destinations.
“As well as providing holidaymakers with more choice, the aircraft means that our formula of friendly flights, fantastic customer service and great comfort will be complemented even further with the addition of a spacious widebody cabin.”
AirTanker’s Airbus A330 will be used by Jet2 at Manchester Airport until the end of October, then again for the company’s Summer 18 programme.
Just recently, the airline two new additions to its programme for next summer – Verona in Italy and Bergerac, southwestern France.
