North Yorkshire holiday destination books in expansion after securing six figure funding deal
Barker Stakes Farm, the North Yorkshire holiday destination, has secured a new six figure funding deal to support the expansion plans for its self-catering portfolio in Pickering.
The funding deal, which was struck with existing bankers Royal Bank of Scotland, will assist in the addition of two new holiday lodges.
The new lodges, which are expected to be ready for guests from Spring 2018, will enable owners Steve and Sarah Goodfellow meet increasing demand from visitors for their accommodation.
The two lodges will each comprise an open plan kitchen, living and dining area, three bedrooms, one with en-suite, as well as a separate house bathroom. Outside a decking area will offer views of the local open countryside.
Set within 16-acres on the banks of Pickering Beck, Barker Stakes Farm offers four star B&B and self-catering accommodation to tourists. The business has experienced 50% growth during the last two years.
Royal Bank of Scotland has provided Barker Stakes Farm with a new six figure funding deal to support costs to develop the lodges. The funding will also refinance some of the company’s existing borrowings, switching all of its facilities to the bank.
Steve Goodfellow, owner of Barker Stakes Farm, said: “We are really excited about our plans for the new lodges. We have seen demand for our accommodation grow rapidly during the last two years and are pleased that we will now be able to increase availability.
“Royal Bank of Scotland has played a huge part in enabling us to expand our business and develop the new lodges. The support we have received has been excellent and I cannot thank Paul Craske enough for assisting us with our plans.”
Paul Craske, senior relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, added: “I am pleased that we have been able to continue to support Steve and Sarah with their plans to extend Barker Stakes Farm.
“The business is located in a very picturesque, country location but is only a short distance away from some of the region’s popular attractions, making it a great base for tourists to the area to choose.
“We have worked alongside the company for a number of years now and I am pleased that we have been able to provide facilities which have enabled them to switch all facilities to Royal Bank of Scotland.
“Barker Stakes Farm is an excellent business and we are looking forward to continuing to work with them as they grow.”
