A Guide to Festivals Abroad

We are now officially approaching the months where we can start to attend our favourite festivals, which means it is time to start getting everything together – and adding another wristband to your collection of festival wristbands! Whether you’re travelling far and going across the pond or somewhere in Europe, you need to start preparing for one of the most exciting weekends you’ll ever have! One of the important things to remember is that you get together all of the important things which you will need during the weekend. Here we have come up with a festival checklist for those travelling abroad.

Anything Camping Related

If you’re going to a festival where you will be camping, then you’ll be sure to have the ultimate experiences. You’ll find yourself absorbed by the atmosphere and you can start as you mean to go on – with your friends. In terms of camping equipment, you’ll need a camping chair, picnic blanket, roll matt, pillow and of course a tent. You will also want to get some toiletries for when you are camping (as festival showers aren’t always the most welcoming places!) so make sure you have deodorant, toothbrush and some wet wipes.

Keep Your Tickets

When going abroad, you will be sure to remember your passport and plane tickets, but it is vital that you remember your festival tickets too! Tickets are the only way to gain access into your festival and some tickets require the same name as your ID. Usually when booking a festival abroad, you will get everything in one big package so you will be carrying your plane, internal travel and festival tickets together at the same time. Therefore, it can be a good idea to get a small bag to carry all your items in.

Never Forget Your Personal Items

Personal items include ID, money, keys and anything else that will affect your travelling trip. As we’ve previously said, when abroad some festivals will not allow you to enter unless the name of the ticket matches with your ID, so it’s important that you take extra care of these items. When at the festival, it can be a good idea to try and only keep as a fewer items on your person as possible. Therefore, it can be a good idea to take any cash you may need out beforehand and leave your bank card at the hotel so that you don’t risk losing it.
