Vermont Group to deliver £120m construction pipeline from new Liverpool HQ

Building and development company The Vermont Group has relocated to a new headquarters in Liverpool city centre as part of its continuing growth plans.

The firm is targeting a turnover for the 2017/18 year of £55m from its new base at No.1 Sefton Street.

Vermont, which turned over £17m in 2015, said it has a further £120m of construction orders in the pipeline beyond 2018.

The company’s new Liverpool HQ will serve as a hub for managing various projects on behalf of its partners, including design, construction, lettings and property management.

Projects this year will include phase one of the £107m X1-Manchester Waters scheme and the first phase of Salford University’s Campus development.

Vermont is currently on site delivering the final phase of The Quarter development in Liverpool, which is due for completion in December 2018, and the £200m X1 Media City scheme at Salford Quays.

Mark Connor, the founder of The Vermont Group, said: “This is an exciting time for the business as we plan for the future and the new head office will be instrumental to our continued success and growth.

“The Vermont Group of companies has been growing rapidly for a number of years and our new premises will ensure all operations can be managed effectively under one roof by the Executive team.”

He added: “We will continue to focus on the residential and student sectors, albeit this market is evolving with the growth of PRS and now institutional funding finding its way into the Liverpool and Manchester markets.”

Elsewhere, the company has confirmed plans to establish the Vermont Investment Trust. Launching in 2017, the trust will provide seed capital and investment for startups and gift all returns generated to the region’s charities.

Vermont currently employs a team of 50 across offices in Liverpool and MediaCityUK.
