Would you like to make your business more effective?
Whether you are looking to make your business more profitable or to upskill your workforce for a changing marketplace, investing in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) will help you and your team keep pace with the latest knowledge and developments and make your business more effective. Northumbria University offers a range of short CPD courses, many with professional body accreditations, which can be studied on-site, at your workplace, or via distance learning.
Reboot your business
Lack of time is frequently given as a reason for not undergoing professional development so Northumbria has designed a range of practical short courses for busy people who want to re-energise their businesses without spending too much time away from the office. Courses range from one to five days and cover subjects including; International Hospitality and Tourism Management, Selling to Business, The Dynamics of Digital Marketing, Basics of Marketing and Advanced Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Renewed focus
Debbie Heppell, Programme Manager at the Department of Work and Pensions, studied the Executive Women Leaders course which aims to help participants overcome the challenges facing women leaders and explores the latest thinking in leadership. She said: “The course gave me a new perspective and renewed focus. I really enjoyed the professional tutor sessions, informal discussions and the chance to network across the wider North East IT world.
“The reflective elements of the course allowed me to stop, think and consider my career, how I got to this point, where to focus and areas to improve in the future. More importantly, it has been useful in highlighting where we as women leaders should strive to improve the world of IT delivery.” Increase your impact
Northumbria offers bespoke Executive Education courses which are designed for managers who want to overcome strategic challenges, achieve operational excellence and have measurable impact.
Courses can cover general management and leadership, change management, finance and accounting, strategy, marketing and innovation, and content, price, duration and delivery can be adapted to suit the needs of your business.
Senior Lecturer Johan Coetsee said: “We work with businesses to meet their needs by either developing a bespoke programme tailored to their exact requirements, or by delivering any combination of our customised masterclasses.
“We start by working with you to understand the issues you face, what success would look like and what would be the difference you want to see in your organisation.”
“Then we create a tailor-made programme that will help you achieve your objectives, have an impact on your bottom line, and bring about long-term change.”
Balance the books
Many managers find themselves with budgetary responsibility without any training in accounting and need help to understand financial matters.
Northumbria’s Finance for Non-financial Managers masterclass covers financial statements, management accounts, effective reporting and project planning in order to increase confidence in analysing, interpreting and evaluating financial information.
Learn to be more innovative
Our Leading Innovation course is designed to help you meet the strategic needs of your business. Through exploring different innovation methods, the course will enable you to make better use of the resources at your disposal and help your business become more efficient and competitive.
