Dublin crowdfunding agency Nuuk expands into Manchester
A startup crowdfunding agency founded in Dublin two years ago has expanded into Manchester.
Nuuk, the brainchild of entrepreneurial duo Lina Gantar and Luka N. Cvikl, has established a six-strong team on Princess Street as it looks to tap into the city’s position as the tech innovation capital of the UK.
Since it was founded in 2015, the company has already helped secure more than $13m (£10.2m) for 40 startups.
Operating campaigns with a 98% success rate, Nuuk is a partner of crowdfunding platforms Indiegogo and Kickstarter.
Lina and Luka, both originally from Slovenia, said they are targeting a turnover of £500k for 2018.
The duo are now seeking new recruits for their office at co-working centre Accelerate Places.
Lina said: “Latest figures show that crowdfunding is a $34.4bn industry.
“Not all applicants are successful and there’s a real skill to being selected - it’s vital to seek expert support to ensure success.”
She continued: “Nuuk works with companies all over the world, helping them secure the funding they need to launch and scale up. We specialise in tech, fashion and design industries but are open to using our experience to support a variety of businesses into action.”
For 2017, the company is on course to turn over £350k.
Commenting on the company’s expansion, Luka said: “We’ve purposefully formed quite a niche offering – as the popularity of crowdfunding grows so too does the demand for dedicated, expert support to attain it.
“Additionally, we see a big increase in the demand for go-to-market strategy, which is what crowdfunding essentially is, so we can apply our crowdfunding expertise to other industries as well.”
He added: “We’re meeting new clients all the time and our roster is rapidly expanding, so we’re feeling really positive about our future in Manchester.”
