Halewood Wines & Spirits signs new deal with Black Country craft brewer

Merseyside drinks giant Halewood Wines & Spirits has signed a new deal with a Black Country brewer as it looks to cement its position in the craft beer market.

The agreement with Stourbridge-based Sadler’s Brewing Company will see the family-owned business tap into Halewood’s infrastructure both in the UK and overseas.

Sadler’s will also receive support in marketing and promoting its craft range.

Founded in 1900 in Oldbury, the company is today operated by fifth generation brewer Chris Sadler.

Sadler’s MD Chris Sadler said: “We’re proud of our family business and have a strong following throughout the Midlands and increasingly elsewhere in the UK.

“Halewood’s investment gives us opportunity, not only to continue providing hand crafted beers with a strong provenance locally, but to expand our reach throughout the rest of the UK and internationally.”

The deal follows on from Halewood’s recent investment in Cumbrian firm Hawkshead Brewery and further broadens its growing craft drinks portfolio.

Halewood Wines & Spirits’ group CEO, Stewart Hainsworth, commented: “Sadler’s has a fantastic family heritage and Chris has continued the passion for creating characterful beers with a point of difference.

“The current Sadler’s generation is talented and visionary while upholding the original family ethos and with Halewood’s focus on craft, we’re looking forward to supporting their business.”

Earlier this month, Halewood Wines & Spirits was announced as the sponsor of Echo Arena Liverpool’s new VIP lounge space.
