Tapped Birch Water is gunning for £200k on Seedrs
London-based healthy drinks brand Tapped Birch Water has launched a £200k crowdfunding drive on equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs.
The brand is hoping to capitalise on its growing momentum which has seen it seal a string of distribution deals with major UK retailers this year, including Sainsbury’s, Boots, Ocado and Holland & Barrett.
Set up just two years ago by Paul Lederer and Charlie Hoare with backing from Zoopla founder Alex Chesterman, the startup’s range of healthy drinks, which is based on low-calorie birch water, have proven a roaring success with sales volumes growing by 87% in the last 12 months.
Now, the startup is turning to the crowd to help fund an expansion in its sales and marketing activities as it looks to raise £200k on the crowdfunding platform.
Tapped Co-Founder, Paul Lederer, commented: “Having expanded our distribution base for TAPPED this year, now is the time for us to invest further in marketing so we can raise awareness, trial and consumption of birch water”
Fellow co-founder Charlie Hoare added: “We have several new flavours ready for our 250ml format and have had enquiries about a larger pack from half a dozen retailers.”
At the time of publication, the brand has already managed to raise just under £179k as part of its crowdfunding campaign placing a valuation of just under £2m on the company.
