Record year for Liverpool-based MSB Solicitors as turnover exceeds £5m
Law firm MSB Solicitors is celebrating after achieving its strongest financial results to date.
For the year ending February 28 2017, the Liverpool-based company’s turnover grew year on year by 16% to exceed £5m for the first time.
Net profit, meanwhile, was up by over 50%.
The firm has implemented a number of measures in recent years to ensure steady growth, including capping overheads, utilising existing office space at its sites across south Liverpool and maintaining responsible staff expansion.
At the start of the year, MSB moved its city centre team to 4 St Paul’s Square where, with the help Mark Worthington of property consultancy Worthington Owen, the firm secured a four-year rent-free deal under its new lease.
The company saw its team grow by almost one-third in 2016 and today employs over 100 staff and consultants across three offices. Among the key appointments were Philip Coburn, in the commercial team, and Brad Armstrong, who now leads the plot sales team.
Paul Bibby, managing partner at MSB Solicitors, said: “I’m hugely impressed with the performance of the entire team at MSB. Contribution to our latest results has been from across the board, with increased revenue in every team.
“The commercial property and plot sales team has performed particularly well and we can boast an impressive portfolio of developers, including X1, Ascot and Signature Living who are all prominent developers and having a significant impact on the changing landscape in Liverpool.”
He continued: “It goes without saying our people are directly responsible for our increased turnover, and whilst we have grown significantly over the past 18 months, it has been an organic process of recruiting the right people for a growing workload.
“We’ve suffered no departures from the firm and we continue to demonstrate core strengths in our commercial, residential and family departments.”
Speaking further, Paul praised MSB partner Joanne Dalton and her “prowess for keen financial management”.
He added: “Joanne’s meticulous forward planning has meant that we are not caught out by trends and can anticipate peaks and troughs in cash flow, which has all contributed to our strongest ever financial results.”
