Liverpool jewellery brand CarterGore to launch pop-up store
New British jewellery brand CarterGore is launching its first ever pop-up store this weekend at Albert Dock.
The Liverpool-based company will join other brands at Fine Tuned – a fringe event forming part of British Style Collective that gathers designer makers, street food vendors, vintage traders, performers and others for a showcase of independent business.
CarterGore, the brainchild of designer Gary Carter, will feature its first two collections at the event, Tattoo Candy and Carnival Wonderland.
Gary said: “I have always made jewellery but after creating quite a few tattoo-inspired commissions I found myself falling in love with tattoo culture and the true artists that work in this amazing field.
“The more I researched and sketched the more obsessed I got, six months down the line, CarterGore was born.”
He continued: “When the opportunity to take the next step and create a pop-up shop came to us, I jumped at the chance as I am confident that everyone that gets to see it will want it.
“We are now developing a short series of collaborative pop-ups, so to be able to work with such cool and talented designers, as HemingwayDesign for the first one is just incredible. I am really looking forward to it.”
Gary was formerly the managing director of jewellery firm ChloBo.
He added: “The Tattoo Candy collection itself has purely grown out of commissioned pieces - in the last six months we have done well over 50 and the reactions we get are incredible.”
Fine Tuned is put together by fashion designer Wayne Hemingway and the creative team at HemingwayDesign.
The event, taking place at Albert Dock this Saturday and Sunday (July 8 - 9), is presented by The Clothes Show in association with Alcatel.
