Manchester’s Building Blocks becomes £13m-revenue digital agency with Dutch acquisition
Digital agency Building Blocks has acquired Dutch software company Tricode.
The Manchester-based firm said the deal, creating a combined business with revenues of £13m and 130 employees, strengthens its technical capabilities.
Building Blocks’ latest acquisition will also give it access to new international markets, including the Netherlands and Macedonia where Tricode is currently based.
Founded in 1999, Tricode has offices in Veenendaal and Skopje that work with international businesses including US telecoms firm Liberty Global and financial services provider Rabobank.
Jasper van de Luijtgaarden, Building Blocks’ CEO, said of the deal: “As a global agency that exists to provide the very best technologies to its customers, we’re delighted with Tricode joining the Building Blocks family – it will make us stronger, bigger and better.
“The partnership will help us achieve our goals of increasing our footprint in the Benelux and Balkan regions, while developing our breadth of technical expertise and enabling us to offer a better service to our global client base.”
He added: “We expect this to be a positive and seamless integration with existing clients of both agencies benefitting from an enhanced services portfolio.”
Tricode chief exec Evert Jan van Schuppen commented: “This is a great move for our company and our clients, who will benefit from the breadth of services that Building Blocks and the wider Dept network can offer, including consultancy and strategy, experience design and digital marketing services.”
Building Blocks was established in 2007 and has overseas offices in Boston, US and Zaragoza, Spain.
The company is part of Dept, a global network of 10 digital agencies.
