MSIF commits full £5m of high-growth business grant cash
Funding provider MSIF has committed the full £5m of its High Growth Business Investment Programme.
Launched in 2015, the programme saw Liverpool-based MSIF invest from £75k to £1m in businesses through grants of up to 20% of a project’s overall costs.
MSIF said the aim has been to help companies wishing to expand or relocate to the Liverpool City Region, creating and safeguarding jobs in the area.
Grants awarded through the High Growth Business Investment Programme have supported over 20 businesses.
Among the investments was £200k for Liverpool-based food ingredient manufacturer Blends, which doubled the size of its Knowsley Business Park base and created 10 jobs.
Another saw MSIF provide £500k for Quinn’s The Printers, which used the six-figure boost to expand from Northern Ireland to the UK with a new Speke-based printing facility. The move led to the creation of 30 jobs.
Lisa Greenhalgh, CEO of MSIF, said: “The £5m of grant funding has supported many businesses with large expansion needs and brought new businesses to Liverpool.
“We’re really happy we were able to commit all of the funds and support the businesses who secured funding.”
She continued: “We will continue to assist businesses across the Liverpool City Region and the surrounding areas with our existing funding options, and are currently looking to increase the value and offerings of our funds under management with the launch of some new funds later in the summer.”
