Pixel Inspiration creates digital signage for multi-site retailers and financial institutions

Altrincham-based Pixel Inspiration snapped up by outsourcing giant Bunzl plc

Marketing services business Pixel Inspiration has been acquired by international distribution and outsourcing group Bunzl plc.

The Altrincham-based company, which focuses on the digital signage sector, provides project-based installations for retailers and financial institutions.

The chief executive of Bunzl, Frank van Zanten, said the deal represents “a strategic development” for the group’s marketing services operation in the UK.

Pixel Inspiration’s expertise, he said, will boost Bunzl’s offer by “extending our existing marketing fulfilment proposition into digital signage, which is a market that is expected to grow significantly over the coming years.”

The acquisition of Pixel Inspiration, a £7m-revenue company, was announced this morning (July 20) as part of a wider move to acquire three French businesses with combined revenues of €155m.

Bunzl said it has now made a binding offer to purchase cleaning and hygiene product distributor Hedis, along with light catering equipment and tableware suppliers Comptoir de Bretagne and Générale Collectivités.

Speaking further, Frank van Zanten said: “I am pleased that the level of acquisition activity has picked up in 2017.

“So far this year Bunzl has acquired, or agreed in principle to acquire, 10 businesses for a total committed spend of approximately £530m.”

In addition to its Cheshire office, Pixel Inspiration has a base in Nutley, East Sussex.
