Washington roofing firm launches recruitment drive after quadrupling turnover to £10m

Washington-based Findley Roofing has quadrupled last year’s turnover in three months, sparking a recruitment drive to fill as many as 63 job vacancies.

Reporting a £2.6m turnover in 2016, the roofing firm has saw revenues spike to £10m in 12 weeks.

Findley is currently recruiting to fill vacancies including admin staff, bookkeepers, sales team, labourers, joiners and experienced roofing and building contractors.

Grant Findley, MD, cites the appointment of new sales and marketing director Tony Finnegan as a major catalyst to its success.

Tony, who believes his success is down to his man management and motivational skills, revealed: “All human beings deserve respect and compassion, that’s key to getting the most out of people.

“Great leaders work with people, rather than above them and make the team feel appreciated. I love nothing more than working with someone who has been having a hard time, to help them turn things around and achieve great things.

“It gives me great pride when I see my team achieving and taking that forward. Our new vision is ‘go big or go home’.”

Grant added: “Things were ticking along quite nicely but Tony has made me realise the true potential of the firm and we have all stepped up a gear.

“Since his arrival, Tony has made such an impact and motivated the whole sales team to perform at their best and I’m really excited about what the future holds.”

Tony continued: “It’s great to be reunited with Grant and to see him running his own business now. I knew he had great potential as a 17-year-old when he started out and it’s great to join his business and start delivering results.

“Grant and I have the same values. We both care about people and that attracted me to join the team. I love what he’s doing with the HESP project and I’m going to be playing an important role with this.

“Work is and has always been my passion. I don’t have children and I’m devoted to my career, working at least 12-hour days and weekends too.”
