Lisa Robert-Jones, Simply Better Events
Leeds-based corporate events company Simply Better Events has appointed Lisa Roberts-Jones as its new Senior Project Manager to help support the firm’s future growth.
Lisa, who joins from We are Vista where she held the position of Senior Logistics Manager, brings 11 years of experience in event delivery to the role over which time she has worked with clients across a range of industries including financial, automotive, retail and the music industry.
Her appointment comes after Simply Better Events sealed seven new clients in the last three months and experienced a 19% jump in turnover last year.
Following her appointment, Lisa said: “I’m very happy to be joining Simply Better Events, this is a really exciting time for the company and I can’t wait to be part of the journey and see it grow even further.”

David Barker, LCF Law
Local law firm LCF Law has snagged one of the two founding partners of boutique insolvency and litigation firm, Carrick Read Insolvency, to become its new partner.
David Barker joins the Yorkshire solicitors and brings over 20 years’ experience to the role; having first qualified as a Barrister in 1993 before co-founding Carrick Read Insolvency 16 years ago.
Managing Partner at LCF Law, Simon Stell, said: “David has more than 20 years’ experience of dealing with a wide range of insolvency and litigation issues.
“He will provide experienced support to our firm’s disputes and commercial litigation teams, which are headed up by Charles Abraham, and his appointment will also enable us to continue developing and growing this area of our business.”
David added: “I look forward to continuing to support those clients and professionals with whom I have worked with over the years, and add my experience to the existing talented and well-respected team at LCF Law.”
Chris Fenwick, Fiona Heseltine, Hannah Leader; Outside the Box
Creative marketing agency Outside the Box has unveiled three new appointments that will strengthen its creative team in Leeds.
First up is Chris Fenwick who joins the agency as a senior creative having spent 20 years working as a graphic designer with major clients including BP, Nationwide and Jeep.
Fiona Heseltine has joined OTB as a graphic designer having previously spent three years working for beauty brand High Definition Brows on designing and developing their consumer-facing campaign material.
Finally, the firm has also announced the appoint of Hannah Leader, who joins OTB’s creative team during her placement gap year from Leeds Beckett University where she is undertaking a degree in Creative Media Technology.

Elaine O’Neill, Airedale Chemical
Leeds-based chemical manufacturer Airedale Chemical is looking to strenghten its reach in the surfactants market with the appointment of Elaine O’Neill.
Elaine, who has previously worked for the likes of Akzo Nobel Surface Chemistry, McIntyre and Libra Speciality Chemicals, will become the firm’s new market manager focussed specifically on surfactants.
As part of her new role, Elaine will provide technical and commercial support for Airedale Chemical’s sales team, in particular advising on applications of surfactants, sourcing new suppliers and implementing new supply deals.
Elaine commented: “The surfactants market is a buoyant and growing area that Airedale Chemical is actively looking to expand into. We already offer several surfactants but over the coming months I will be expanding our portfolio into home, industrial and institutional cleaning, personal care and industrial markets.
“My long term plans also include new products for the personal care market. I forecast a lot of potential in this and the home care industry, so I’ll be looking at ways to make the most of those opportunities by building strong relationships with trusted and innovative suppliers.”
Rachel Warsop, Ison Harrison
The Huddersfield office of Yorkshire law firm Ison Harrison has welcomed commercial property lawyer Rachel Warsop who joins from its Castleford branch.
Bringing with her over 18 years experience having started off as an assistant solicitor at Maurice Solicitors back in 1999, Rachel’s appointment brings total headcount at the Huddersfield office to eight following its opening back in January.
Rachel commented: “I’m looking forward to working with a new team and in a completely new area.
“There is a real demand for commercial property in Huddersfield and specialising in this for clients based in Huddersfield and the surrounding areas represents an exciting new opportunity for me personally.
“Client contact is a key priority for me and to be able to deliver such a focussed service for existing and new clients is a major factor for me.”
