Tailoring business Whitfield & Ward acquires new Wilmslow base with six-figure funding
Family-run tailoring business Whitfield & Ward has launched a new store in the centre of Wilmslow.
Purchased with six-figure funding from Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), the new 3,800 sq ft space gives the company room to enhance its retail operation and customer experience.
The store, set over two floors, is located at The Coach House on Mill Road and features a reception, changing rooms, hire department and bespoke suiting area.
Whitfield & Ward said it has experienced strong growth over the last four years, with turnover doubling during the period.
Today, the company employs nine members of staff.
Whitfield & Ward owner Craig Whitfield said: “Our previous store on Altrincham Road was much smaller than this one and due to space confinements the customer experience was not what we wanted it to be.
“The improved layout has helped us to make the whole process more smooth and efficient and we couldn’t be happier with the way it is running.”
He continued: “Royal Bank of Scotland have been brilliantly supportive of this move and we have been impressed with the service we have received from the bank. We have banked with them since setting up the business in 2012 and the team there really understand the business and our need to move.”
RBS relationship manager Michele Fynan commented: “Whitfield & Ward is a real success story and I am pleased that we have been able to provide funding to aid their relocation.
“The new store is stunning and is set to make real improvements to the business.”
