Yorkshire Society Plaques for Corporate Celebrations
For many years, the Yorkshire Society has erected plaques to commemorate Yorkshire men and women who, during their lifetime, gave exceptional service or contributed significantly to the County which translated in many cases to benefit the country as a whole, achieving much to celebrate and who were excellent Ambassadors for Yorkshire.
A few years ago, the Society was approached to erect a plaque to celebrate the founding of Fox’s Biscuits in Batley and as a result the Society has decided to take the lead to recognise Yorkshire Corporate talent and have teamed up with MTL of Rotherham who will produce a Yorkshire-made stainless steel plaque to be erected on the buildings of companies founded in and still operating in Yorkshire. It has been well documented that we do not shout loud enough about the success of Yorkshire achievements and this is one way we can all celebrate excellent corporate talent. The Society will be approaching many Yorkshire companies and seeks enquiries to ensure this initiative is a great success.
Jamie Sharp, Managing Director of MTL said “It was a pleasure this week to welcome Keith Madeley (Mr Yorkshire) to our site at MTL in Rotherham, South Yorkshire to present him with a demonstration plaque made from 3mm, 304 brushed polish steel which was laser-cut in our factory. I look forward to doing more work with Keith and the Yorkshire Society into the future”
Keith Madeley, Chairman of the Yorkshire Society, commented “I am hoping our media partners will join with us in this initiative to help celebrate Yorkshire Corporate success. In my initial conversations on the subject I have been delighted to receive comments like ‘it’s about time Yorkshire corporate achievements are acknowledged.’ What better than a true Yorkshire plaque made in traditional Yorkshire stainless steel to celebrate excellence in Yorkshire! “
