Designer Orla Kiely to make shopping centre debut with pop-up store at Brent Cross
Contemporary designer Orla Kiely, best known for her retro prints and designs, is due to open a new pop-up store at Brent Cross, the North London shopping centre.
This will be the first shopping centre store for the Dublin-born designer, whose collection of womenswear, accessories and homeware is now a worldwide brand, with shops in New York and Korea.
Due to open in August 2017, the pop-up will run for six months, taking a 2,074 sq ft store in mall five, alongside fashion brands Jigsaw, Anthropologie, All Saints, Hobbs and Reiss.
Brent Cross, which is owned by Hammerson and Standard Life Investments, has already completed upsizes with Zara, JD Sports and Fraser Hart and the recent opening of the new Rituals store.
Ed Jenkins, head of UK retail at Standard Life Investments, said: “This letting demonstrates the continued draw of Brent Cross for leading retailers, particularly for international brands like Orla Kiely looking to expand their presence in the UK.
“The store will offer something different for customers that can’t be found in other centres, cementing Brent Cross’s strong appeal for shoppers and retailers alike.”
Iain Mitchell, UK commercial director at Hammerson, added: “We are delighted to welcome Orla Kiely’s debut store to Brent Cross.
“This is an exciting addition to the centre’s retail offer and demonstrates its continued appeal for brands looking to gain a foothold in prime retail destinations in the UK.
“Strong occupier demand is the driving force behind the planned extension of Brent Cross and new lettings such as this are very encouraging.”
