Commercial insurance broker, amb insurance has promoted Mark Jones to sales director and Peter Lycett-Williams to operations director. The company, located at Hillcrest House in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, has emphasised its commitment to staff development by advancing the two account executives to the position of director.
Mark Jones, who has been with amb for just over four years, has witnessed a 30 per cent increase in the company’s financial performance since 2014, and the small business continues to grow.
“In addition to boosting our turnover and profit, we’ve invested in technology and staff development,” said Mark Jones. “We’ve installed a new IT and communications infrastructure which allows the team to work remotely, including at client premises. The increased access means we can provide detailed and thorough quotes, highlight areas of risk, and achieve a quick turnaround for the client. Resulting in a more flexible and thorough service.”
Peter Lycett-Williams, who has been with amb for six years, is responsible for evaluating business operations, including processes and working environment.
“Although the insurance industry is steeped in tradition, amb strives to offer a fresh new twist, and this includes how it manages and leads its staff,” explained Peter Lycett-Williams. “We’ve created a work culture that motivates staff and encourages them to engage with the business, not just the part they play. Every member of the team is encouraged to share ideas, usually over oatcakes!”
As commercial experts, amb supports clients from various sectors to ensure they obtain reliable cover tailored to meet the specific industry risks. The team has specialist expertise working with clients from the construction, engineering and manufacturing sectors.
Andrew Barrow, managing director of amb, believes that a business requires the right team to be able to grow and mature. He added: “It’s always been my policy to promote from within, it encourages and nurtures ambition and provides members of staff the ability to progress. Peter and Mark have taken on new challenges and responsibilities and have an invested interest in promoting the growth and success of the business.”
The firm’s goal is to increase turnover by a further 30 per cent over the next three years and it plans to recruit an additional two account executives.
