Leeds City Region garners new private sector support ahead of MIPIM UK

Leeds City Region’s presence at MIPIM UK 2017, the UK’s largest property and investment conference, has received new private sector support.

CEG, the developer behind Kirkstall Forge, international law firm Addleshaw Goddard, independent national planning consultancy Pegasus Group and full service law firm Bond Dickinson have all confirmed their support for the City Region’s attendance at both MIPIM UK 2017 in October and MIPIM 2018 in March.

CEG and Bond Dickinson join previously announced City Region supporters including Scarborough International Properties, Town Centre Securities, Munroe K and Caddick Group.

Roger Marsh OBE, Chair of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, commented: “I’m delighted that CEG and Addleshaw Goddard are continuing to support Leeds City Region’s presence at MIPIM and it’s fantastic to welcome first time supporters Bond Dickinson and Pegasus Group to our growing delegation.

“Together with our other private sector partners I believe we are developing a truly collaborative, public private partnership approach which is seen by the business community as hugely beneficial.

“I look forward to working together to emphasise to the influential audience that Leeds City Region is already delivering significant returns to investors, continuing to attract major occupiers with brands such as Burberry and Sky continuing to grow their presence in the region; and ultimately that now is the time to become part of our story.”

Jon Kenny, development director of CEG, added: “CEG is supporting Leeds City Region at MIPIM 2018 because it is essential the city is profiled on an international stage.

“The South Bank regeneration area has the potential to double the size of Leeds City Centre over the next few decades, providing high quality office, retail and leisure space, as well as homes to support the growing economy.

“This coupled with HS2 and HS3 mean the city could enter a new era of unprecedented economic prosperity.

“Since 1990, Leeds has outperformed Manchester, Birmingham and other regional peers and opportunities like MIPIM provide a national stage to not only raise awareness about the city’s success but also ensure Leeds remain competitive in a global economy in order to retain its position as one of the UK’s fastest growing cities.”
