Polar Krush Shortlisted For Prestigious Made in the North East Awards
Global natural iced drinks manufacturer Polar Krush has been shortlisted in the Food and Drink category in the Made in the North East Awards 2017.
The event recognises and rewards the excellence of those operating in the industry and aim to showcase manufacturers that are doing amazing work and producing world-class products in new and innovative ways.
The company, based in Ashington, have been shortlisted after the judging panel took into consideration account innovation, commercial success and business development, along with use of regional products.

The company is at a point of rapid growth and it is fantastic to see our achievements recognised in the region.“
It is the sixth year that Insider has held the awards in the North East, with all ten winners automatically entered into the national manufacturing final – Made in the UK Awards – which will be taking place in the summer 2018.
Philip Cunliffe, regional business editor at Insider, organisers of the awards, said: “This year’s shortlists contain many names that haven’t featured before but which I regard as the unsung heroes of the manufacturing sector in the region. We look forward to highlighting them on the night and showcasing the excellent work they do.”
Polar Krush are currently undergoing a £1 million factory refit which will enable the team to increase their output by 500% and create 12 new jobs for the region.
Alongside the future positions, the company has created 20 new jobs for the North East in the past two years. New members of the team are already in place in production and the warehouse roles to help manage the dramatic increase in customer orders in 2017.
The winners will be announced on at a glamourous ceremony at Redworth Hall on Thursday 19th October.
