Young Liverpool entrepreneur launches ‘industry-changing’ nightlife app Skiffl
A entrepreneur in Liverpool has launched a new app to revolutionise the way we plan a night out.
Skiffl, created by 23-year-old Liam O’Donnell, lets users browse bars and nightclubs in the city, book VIP tables and booth packages and pre-order bottles.
The app was initially released to a private group of invite-only members during a launch party at local celeb haunt Kingdom Bar & Nightclub, but CEO Liam said he decided to make Skiffl publically available due to “overwhelming demand”.
He explained: “Our industry-changing app has been talked about all over the city for months now.
“Everyone has been asking me when the app is out so I’m happy to say they are now able to download it for free. We initially released the app as invite-only, but due to overwhelming demand, Skiffl is now available to all.”
It addition to its reservation features, the app allows users to easily split the bill with friends and guests. Skiffl calculates how much each person needs to contribute and accepts individuals’ payments via the app.
Liam worked with a number of popular bars and nightclubs in the city to get the software off the ground, including Brickworks, Playground, Haus and PURE NightLounge.
Initially just available in Liverpool, the app will be rolled out to other UK cities before expanding internationally in the near future.
Michael Kearns, Skiffl’s head of marketing, said of the app’s VIP launch party: “Our launch party was hugely successful. We had Anton Powers and Sallie Axl DJing and Darby Ward singing live.
“Our guest list was filled with Liverpool’s most glamorous celebs and socialites. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the atmosphere was incredible. Now that the free Skiffl app is out, everyone can access and enjoy VIP nightlife.”
