Acam marks first six months in business by netting new ‘Wolves’ deal

A fledgling Black Country-based production company has scored a major contract with one of the Midlands largest football clubs – just six months after it launched.

Acam Video, which is run by experienced cameraman John Czerepaninec and editing specialist Phil Clark, has been appointed by Wolverhampton Wanderers to supply multi-camera coverage for selected live home and away matches this season.

The firm beat off the challenge of larger rivals to secure the deal, which will also involve sending live graphics and goal replays to an independent streaming company that will then broadcast it on the recently launched WolvesTV to thousands of supporters around the world.

As part of the contract, Acam Video has invested heavily in new ‘streaming’ technology and a live match replay machine.

“This is a fantastic boost for us, just six months after we decided to go on our own,” explained John.

“Wolverhampton Wanderers are a global brand and we will have been up against some massive companies, so to do enough to secure the contract is very reassuring. I think the club’s media team liked the fact we have lots of experience in sports broadcasting and that we would deliver the personal touch.”

He went on to add: “I’m just glad I’m not commentating as I can’t promise I’d be impartial!”

The ‘Wolves’ announcement marks a great first six months in business for Acam Video, with more than £100,000 of new work already secured.

Customers ranging from Jonathan Lee Recruitment and C&D Consultancy to automotive giants Tata are all taking advantage of the duo’s broadcast and editing experience, including access to its HD and 4K cameras.

The firm is also gaining a reputation for its ‘live streaming’ service that has catapulted UBBAD bare knuckle boxing on to the global stage.

Phil Clark continued: “It’s not just sport that this new form of broadcasting is useful for. We are now working with a lot of corporates keen to communicate to their audience via video.

“This includes a joint venture we have forged with Moon Storm Media in Birmingham, which sees us provide a 4 camera outside broadcast for Veritas Technologies LLC.

“The show is a live streaming debate show with a CIO panel (5 people) discussing various topics relevant to the day.”

He concluded: “Such has been the interest in our services that many of our initial clients have started to book us up for events next year…just in case they miss out. That’s great news for a business that has only been going six months.”

In addition to building a growing corporate client base, Acam Video also continues to work with the BBC, ITV, Sky Sports and a host of production houses on freelance assignments.

It has recently launched a brand new website (www.acamvideo.com) to help it showcase its work and secure new contracts with the public and private sector.
