Four appointments, Tangerine

Communications consultancy Tangerine has strengthened its senior team with two promotions and two new hires.

The Manchester-based company has promoted Lisa Hale to the role of associate director and Laura Weightman to head of social comms.

Tangerine also welcomed two account directors, Emma Sivakumaran and Jen Hallam, to its 12-strong Leadership Team.

The firm’s founder, Sandy Lindsay MBE, said: “The Leadership Team ensures we keep pushing ourselves and our clients forward in line with our ‘Bolder, Braver, Better’ philosophy.

“Some members of the Leadership Team have been with us nearly a decade and have seen the consultancy change and morph several times over the years and these new additions to the Team will work alongside these longstanding members to support each other and the agency as we enter this exciting new phase of the business.”

Stephanie Fisher, Simon Broadbent and Danielle Coletta, Bugler Smith

Cheshire brand communications agency Bugler Smith has announced three senior appointments.

New creative director Simon Broadbent has nearly 30 years’ experience in the creative industry, including roles at TBWA and Amaze.

Stephanie Fisher, meanwhile, joined Bugler Smith as head of social strategy within its PR and social team.

Danielle Coletta has taken on the role of senior account manager, following five years as marketing manager with online food order business Just Eat.

Lee Ashton, founder and managing director of Bugler Smith, said: “Simon’s creative talent and award-winning experience will play a key role in our next phase of planned growth.

“He joins at an exciting time for the agency, and will support our ethos, of making the formal informal, and reputation for delivering outstanding creative output.”

He added: “The additional appointments of Stephanie and Danielle will add strength to the account management and PR and social teams, which have both grown significantly in the last two years.”

Adam Husband, FW Capital

FW Capital has taken on a new investment executive at its Manchester office to work on the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF).

Adam Husband joined the investment firm from NatWest, where he worked for nine years, most recently as a relationship manager.

In his new role, Adam will be responsible for identifying and investing in small- and medium-sized businesses requiring funding from the £102m NPIF – FW Capital Debt Finance fund.

He said: “I am delighted to join FW Capital, where my role is to seek out and support ambitious SMEs in the region with growth loans.

“The opportunity to work at FW Capital, which has established itself as a leading provider of alternative finance was a big factor in my decision to leave the bank.”

FW Capital’s North West fund manager, Gary Guest, commented: “Adam has longstanding ties with the local business community and will be a great addition to the team. We’re delighted to have him on board.”

Colin Chapman, CJ Retail Solutions

Runcorn-based retail display installation firm CJ Retail Solutions has chosen a new managing director.

Following his appointment, Colin Chapman will be responsible for driving the strategic growth of the business as it looks to expand its offering.

He previously served as the company’s operations director for four and a half years.

Colin’s experience before CJ includes roles with Asda, Walmart Canada, Homebase and Morrisons.

He said: “I’m passionate about driving CJ Retail Solutions forward during this exciting period of growth. I’m looking forward to helping shape the business by working together with the sales and operations teams, as we look to strengthen our position as market leaders.

“CJ Retail Solutions continues to lead the way. The company is in a unique position by having a number of experts in-house with a vast knowledge of the global retail sector.”

He added: “By continuing to harness client relationships and working as one, I firmly believe we can achieve great things.”

Colin’s appointment saw previous managing director and founder Chris Langford moved to the position of chairman.

Seven appointments, Liverpool City Region LEP

The Liverpool City Region LEP has welcomed new private sector leaders to its board.

The seven newly appointed board members will work to drive the City Region’s economic growth over the next three years.

Joining the LEP are:

• Prof Janet Beer – vice chancellor of the University of Liverpool
• Paul Corcoran – MD of marketing agency Agent Marketing
• Dr. Jon Hague – vice president for open innovation with consumer goods giant Unilever R&D
• Laura O’Brien – vice president and site head at manufacturer Seqirus
• John Syvret – CEO of shipbuilder Cammell Laird Group
• Angela White – chief executive of voluntary service organisation Sefton CVS
• Mark Whitworth – chief executive at port operator Peel Ports Group

The chair of the Liverpool City Region LEP, Asif Hamid MBE, said of the appointments: “I’m delighted to welcome our new members to the LEP Board.

“All seven new board members are leaders in their fields and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the LEP directly related to the LEP’s priorities.”

He continued: “These appointments add to the outstanding board members we already have in place and ensure we have an effective and diverse leadership that supports our continued work to drive economic growth.”

Laura Dadulak, Leathes Head Hotel

Leathes Head Hotel, locate near Keswick, has appointed Laura Dadulak in the role of hotel manager.

Laura, who is originally from Latvia, has lived and worked in the UK for 15 years.

Her experience includes work with luxury hotels across the Lake District, including The Samling and Storrs Hall.

Prior to joining The Leathes Head Hotel, Laura was assistant manager at Holbeck Ghyll, between Ambleside and Windermere.

She commented: “I was instantly attracted to The Leathes Head Hotel because of its stunning location and straight away I felt like it would be the most perfect place to work and live.

“I think 2018 is going to be a very exciting time for the hotel and I look forward to developing new menus with our Head Chef Noel Breaks, as well as refurbishing the restaurant and introducing weddings to this very special part of the Borrowdale Valley.”

Mike Edge and Rachel Pitman, Mills & Reeve

National law firm Mills & Reeve has made two new lateral hires within its Manchester-based real estate team.

Mike Edge and Rachel Pitman both joined the company from Pinsent Masons.

Real estate lawyer Mike has worked for a number of high-profile clients, including developers and investors, as well as occupier clients.

He led the Manchester real estate team at Pinsent Masons for seven years.

Real estate partner Rachel Pitman has acted on various high-profile investment properties in Manchester and advised clients on strategically important development sites in the region.

Beverley Firth, who heads up Mills & Reeve’s national real estate team, said: “The appointment of Mike and Rachel will help us achieve our aim of growing our real estate team to in turn help businesses and organisations in Manchester and the North West assure further strong growth.”

Senior partner Justin Ripman commented: “This is yet another significant development in our real estate team following our merger with Maxwell Winward earlier in the year.

“The expansion of our Manchester team will further enhance our national network of real estate experts.”
