£125k funding stimulates jobs growth at Burnley-based Holker IT
An IT company in Burnley is preparing to create jobs after securing a six-figure loan.
Holker IT will use the £125k provided by Lancashire Rosebud Finance to take on 10 new employees in the next two to three years, bringing its team to 26 staff.
The firm, which has a satellite office in Preston, is expecting to report 20% turnover growth for the current year.
Holker provides IT support services, telecoms systems and printers to clients across the North West and is led by directors Matthew Metcalfe and James Dewhurst.
County Cllr Michael Green, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Environment and Planning, said: “It is pleasing to see another Lancashire firm performing well. They have engaged with Lancashire’s Rosebud finance to assist them to take the business to the next level.
“They are investing in their staff in terms of training and are looking to grow the business by expanding their service offer.”
Lancashire Rosebud Finance, a provider of growth funding for county-based businesses, is run by Mercia Fund Managers on behalf of the county council’s economic development company.
Peter Rooney, investment manager at Mercia, commented: “Holker IT is seeing a growing demand for IT support from small firms in the region.
“The company has a reputation for its fast and responsive service and is continually investing in staff and skills. The directors are continuing to expand their services in cyber security and business technology consultancy.”
He added: “This funding will allow them to build the team and pursue their growth strategy.”
