Car finance provider Marsh to create 60 jobs at new Rochdale base
Car finance firm Marsh has unveiled plans to create dozens of jobs following a move to the Victorian Crossfield Mill in Rochdale.
The council-backed relocation saw the company, which was previously based just off Chichester Street, increase its floor space from less than 4,000 sq ft to 22,000 sq ft.
Having invested £1.7m in the acquisition and renovation of its new base, Marsh now plans to create 60 jobs over the next five years.
Positions available will include roles in sales, collections and IT.
Managing director Andrew Marsh, whose father founded the business as a personal loan provider in 1973, said: “I’ve always lived and worked in Rochdale, so it was the first place I looked when we outgrew our old base.
“We’ve got big plans for the next five years and we want to stay in Rochdale as we do that.”
Marsh is looking to expand further with the launch of a new business, LM Operations, that will offer car finance to customers in Ireland.
Rochdale Borough Council Leader Cllr Richard Farnell commented: “The fact that Marsh has moved into a building with space for the additional 60 staff they’re looking to recruit is testament to the confidence they have in Rochdale as a place to do business.
“I also think it says a lot that they’ve chosen to stay in the borough as their business has grown and become more successful and have invested close to £2m.”
He added: “Marsh is certainly in the fast lane and I Iook forward to more of our residents getting jobs with them in the future.”
