JetSmarter to foray into Asian and Latin American Markets
JetSmarter, the members-only private jet travel and lifestyle community, is keen on expanding to newer destinations in Asia and Latin America. The company, which provides shared and private jet charters, has been acknowledged by High Net Worth individuals like Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, and Emily Ratajkowski on social media for its ‘uber-luxurious’ VIP flights.
In an interview with Forbes this month, JetSmarter CEO Sergey Petrossov expressed his vision of expanding business into newer geographic horizons. “We want to get into India, we want to get into Asia, we want to get into Latin America. All these different parts of the world that we’re not in yet, we’d like to enter and start growing JetSmarter”, he said.
Petrossov talked about the scope of JetSmarter in another interview with the Arabian Gazette in 2015. He talked about the plans that JetSmarter would be looking at China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, as well as Asia-Pacific countries Australia and New Zealand as potential markets.
Passengers soon will be able to circumnavigate most of the globe, if the services expand to newer destinations in Asia and Latin America. For a lot of High Net Worth individuals in these regions, owning a jet (with high taxes) is not practical, with the amount of airtime they clock in a year (often less than 200 hours a year). Because of infrastructural challenges, costs & maintenance and the perceived value, retaining a private jet might not be a feasible idea for even the uber rich.
Surprisingly, JetSmarter does not own any aircraft of its own, but connects to a network of more than 3,000 luxury jets in 45 posted routes across the US, Europe, and the Middle East.
The company has been working since 2014 on a model of facilitating premium, hassle-free flight experience for members through its app. The expansion plan to growing business hubs like Singapore, India and China could also elevate the demand to fly with JetSmarter by its European, American and Middle Eastern members.
JetSmarter has always been very researchful and calculative when it comes to tapping newer markets. The decision of CEO Sergey Petrossov to develop global offerings in these markets could, therefore, be a sign of high potential in these niche markets.
