tastecard launches its first retail proposition in major UK stores

The first retail proposition has been launched by tastecard in major retailers throughout the UK, which offers six-month digital memberships in Tesco, Morrisons and Costco.

The new offering will allow consumers to sign up to a six-month membership for the UK’s largest dining club by purchasing a pre-paid digital membership in store.

Unlike those purchased online, once activated through the tastecard app, the membership will expire automatically after six months.

Matt Turner, CEO, commented: “This is a huge step for the tastecard brand and I’m so proud of the team. It’s been 12 years since we first launched in London, and it has always been a dream of mine for us to be seen on the shelves of some of the country’s biggest retailers.

“Our brand new route to market in some of the UK’s major retailers will allow us to reach new audiences and we’re very excited by this proposition.”

Launched in 2006, tastecard now boasts more than 6,600 nationwide restaurants including Zizzi, Strada, Prezzo, Ask Italian, PizzaExpress and Pizza Hut Restaurants and has over three million members.

The cards will be available in Costco at a price point of £18.99 and will include exclusive access to tastecard +, which offers additional discounts on cinema tickets, hotels and theme parks.

tastecard will also be available to purchase in Tesco and Morrisons at a price point of £20 and will give consumers the opportunity to upgrade to tastecard + for an extra 99p a month.
