Indie coffee chain Bean launches new retail concept at Liverpool’s Princes Dock
Independent coffee chain Bean has opened a new concept shop at Liverpool Waters.
Having agreed a lease on a unit located next to its current premises at Princes Dock, the company used the space to establish a retail offering focusing on local produce and artisan goods.
The new venture, known as The Store, combines the food and beverage aspect of a traditional convenience store with a range of other amenities, including an off licence, florist, dry cleaning and courier services.
The Store also features a ‘pop-up’ area that will host craft retailers, artisan bakers and a Friday Farmers’ Market.
Bean’s latest expansion follows the launch of its eleventh coffee shop at 20 Chapel Street in August.
Jon Whyte, Bean Coffee’s director and co-founder, said of the new offering: “There’s lots of people on-site at Liverpool Waters, whether they are workers, residents or visitors, and we absolutely want to cater for their varying needs.
“We will be bringing together the everyday services they need under one roof, right on their doorstep.”
He added: “The Store will also be a great opportunity for us to collaborate with other independent, local businesses – we’re really excited to open our doors.”
Liverpool Waters asset manager Liza Marco commented: “With an established brand, recognised for offering quality, local produce, Bean Coffee is an ideal partner for our growing community here at Liverpool Waters.
“There’s already been a lot of interest in The Store from residents and workers. Their new range of goods and services will further enhance the current amenity offer at Liverpool Waters and Peel is delighted to be collaborating with an existing tenant as they develop their concept.”
The Bean Coffee brand currently operates across units in Exchange Station, Liverpool Innovation Park, Brunswick Business Park and St Paul’s Square, with other locations in Manchester.
