Young entrepreneur secures £310k boost for Swinton-based play and sensory centre business.
A young entrepreneur from Manchester has secured six-figure funding for his play and sensory centre business.
Matthew O’Neil, the 22-year-old founder of Play Kidds, turned to NatWest for £310k in funding to acquire his firm’s existing premises on Moorside Road in Swinton.
The bank also supported the company with a £60k loan when it first launched.
Play Kidds, which employs 12 people, offers activities for children both with and without learning difficulties.
In addition to its soft play facilities, giant slide and ball pool, the company’s Swinton centre is equipped with a sensory room for children with additional needs, as well as for use by young mothers and babies.
The site is also home to a café focusing on healthy food and drinks.
Matthew said: “Since working with NatWest, I have been able to focus my time on running my business in the knowledge that my relationship manager has a detailed understanding of my business, offering more than just financial support but business advice.
“NatWest supported me again recently, with a mortgage to purchase the Play Kidds building.”
He added: “This has allowed me to reduce my outgoings and assist with the long-term growth plans I have for the business.”
NatWest relationship manager Jonathan Dowling commented: “Matthew is a fantastic example of a young entrepreneur who is dedicated to growing his business and offering a service which has a positive impact on the local community.
“We’ve worked with him since the beginning and look forward to supporting him further as his business grows.”
