THRIVING SUNDERLAND BUSINESS PARK CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL 2017

The team behind Quay West Business Village are celebrating a successful year after welcoming a raft of new tenants to the park in recent months, highlighting the area and the city as a booming business hub.

The 100,000 sq. ft. Quay West Business Village, which is owned by North East property development and investment company, Adderstone Group, offers a range of office and commercial units, as well as access to development opportunities. The Business Village has welcomed many new companies, over the course of the year, including; Connect Appointments, Proforecast, We Want Any Car, Car 2 U and Apollo Print Solutions.

Ellis Evans from Connect Appointments, an established recruitment agency, moved to Quay West at the turn of the year.

Ellis explained: “Choosing Quay West to launch the Sunderland branch of Connect Appointments was a great decision for us. We offer temporary and permanent recruitment solutions, and our Quay West office is our first venture in England. Connect is already established as one of the leading independent recruitment firms in Scotland.

“We’re off to a great start in Sunderland, already having to expand our team to meet demand less than six months after moving in. We’ve got a great working environment here, our offices are very welcoming and the location is perfect. We’re looking forward to seeing what more we can achieve here at Quay West.”

Charlie Harkness, Adderstone Group’s Commercial Estates Surveyor, added: “This rapid succession of new tenants to Quay West demonstrates an encouraging growth in business activity in the city. Quay West is capable of supporting a range of organisations from start-ups through to more established growing businesses, to international organisations looking for key locations in the North of England.

The success of Quay West Business Village demonstrates further confidence amongst the business community in Sunderland. This is perfectly timed as Sunderland makes its final flourish to be crowned UK City of Culture 2021 ahead of the decision on Thursday 7th December.

Those backing the bid say that should Sunderland be named UK City of Culture 2021, the North East could benefit from an economic boost in excess of £100 million.
