Floating aqua park with 92m assault course coming to Albert Dock Liverpool

Water sports business Industry Wake is bringing a floating aqua park to Albert Dock Liverpool.

The company secured planning consent for the creation of a £200k attraction, The Adventure Dock Co, that will give visitors access to a range of water-based activities.

Operating between May and October, the aqua park will include a 92m inflatable assault course. Temporary units will house customer facilities such as food concessions, beach-style changing huts and a wetsuit store.

The Adventure Dock Co will be located on Duke’s Dock, between Albert Dock and King’s Dock.

Industry Wake MD Tim Woodhead said: “We are over the moon to have been granted planning permission at Duke’s Dock, and we are now incredibly excited to set-up our aqua park in time for our curtain raiser in May 2018.

“We have worked at several iconic locations in the past, but none as prestigious or historic as Liverpool’s waterfront.”

He added: “Our aqua park is something that will excite those young and old, and I can guarantee that our obstacles will leave thrill-seekers wanting to return over and over again for more!”

Industry Wake also operates Liverpool Wake Park at Liverpool Watersports Centre, based in the neighbouring Queen’s Dock.

Albert Dock Liverpool chief executive Sue Grindrod commented: “We look forward to working in partnership with The Adventure Dock Co and Canal & River Trust, to animate the water space and create something new for visitors to enjoy at Albert Dock.”
