Manchester startup Broadstone Engage launches security recruitment platform
Broadstone Engage has launched its recruitment platform and mobile app for the private security industry.
The Manchester-based startup, founded last year by entrepreneur Tom Pickersgill, pushed its digital offer live this week (January 8).
Broadstone said its platform allows jobseekers and employers in the sector to find each other and seamlessly communicate about opportunities.
The website and app will serve as the beginning a fully compliant vetting procedure, the company explained, potentially speeding up and simplifying the process for both parties.
Tom, who worked in the private security industry for three years before starting his business, secured £200k funding from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund in October last year.
He was advised by Shiraz Anwar, a creative, digital and tech startup advisor with Business Growth Hub.
Shiraz said: “From our first meeting, Tom impressed me with his in-depth knowledge and understanding of the solution he wanted to bring to market.
“Our primary focus was getting Tom investment-ready. This involved, among other things, introducing Tom to potential investors and preparing him for the pitches, registering Tom’s intellectual property of the idea and building high barriers to entry for his competitors.”
He added: “Finally, we also needed to identify the first key tech hires so, when investment did come through, the platform could be launched properly straight away.”
