Degree Apprenticeships: how to 'grow your own' talent

Manchester Metropolitan University is inviting North West employers to find out how they can ‘grow their own’ talent via funded degree apprenticeships.

A free lunchtime seminar at Manchester Met’s business school on Tuesday 30 January will explore the opportunities to access government funding or use the Apprenticeship Levy to develop existing employees of all ages, as well as school and college-leavers.

Manchester Metropolitan University is a UK leader for degree apprenticeships, working with more than 125 employers of all sizes and more than 600 apprentices.

Liz Gorb, Director of Apprenticeships for Manchester Metropolitan University, said: “We have many years experience of successful partnership with local employers – helping them to recruit and develop their degree apprentices, who blend paid work with University study. A number of our employer partners and apprentices will be at the event to share their experiences and advice.”

The University’s current programmes include: Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (Business Management), with specialist pathways in hospitality, fashion and retail; Digital & Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship (Software Engineer, Data Analyst, IT Consultant, Cyber Security Analyst, Mainframe Engineer); and Laboratory Scientist Degree Apprenticeship.

Other degree and masters-level programmes are in development, scheduled for launch in 2018, including the MBA Degree Apprenticeship and the Digital Marketer Degree Apprenticeship.
