Service station expands to create 30 jobs in Preston

A retailer based in West Yorkshire is creating up to 30 jobs with the reopening of a service station in Preston.

The Brookfield Group has expanded its New Hall Lane Services site, located on one of the main arterial routes into the city centre, to include a large convenience shop with an in-store Greggs bakery and car valeting facilities.

Brookfield said it also plans to install two charging points for electric vehicles.

The company completed the project with seven-figure funding from HSBC.

Aziz Patel, development partner at Brookfield, said: “The redevelopment of New Hall Lane Services has taken a great deal of effort from us and our professional team.

“The original facility was first built in the 1960s and the site required a complete overhaul to be up to the high standards we set ourselves.”

He added: “Thanks to the funding from HSBC, we are now incredibly proud to bring a state-of-the-art filling station and convenience store to the area.”

HSBC’s area director for West and South Yorkshire, Mike Swift, commented: “Brookfield Property has a proven track record in building successful and profitable filling stations around the North of England.

“We’re excited to see the progress of the New Hall Lane Services and are delighted to support a project that can bring so many jobs to the Preston area.”

HSBC corporate director David Logan and corporate bank manager Ash Khan completed the deal.

Founded in 1992, Brookfield buys land and underperforming sites in the North and redevelops them into modern service station facilities operating under the Shell and BP fuel brands.
