Four appointments, Eric Wright Construction
Building firm Eric Wright Construction has announced four director appointments.
Dan Gosling has been promoted to commercial director and Steve Reid to pre-construction director. The pair have worked for the contractor since 2000 and 1998 respectively.
Elsewhere, John Harnett has become the firm’s operations director, having joined the company in 2015. Eric Wright also promoted James Eager to surveying director. He has worked with the company since 2016

Five appointments, Forward Role
Recruitment company Forward Role has welcomed five new members of staff to its team.
The firm appointed Daniel Haydon and Matthew Borthwick as business managers alongside recruitment consultants Josh Pepper, Desi Todorova and Ryan Dolan.
All five will be based at Forward Role’s new office in Manchester city centre.
MD Steve Thompson said: “These five new hires tie into our strategic aims for 2018 focused on continuing to grow our nationwide offering and building our capability to provide our clients with both short-term and long-term recruitment solutions.
“It’s so important for us to continue to identify the very best talent in our industry and create our own future recruitment stars.”

Mark Bailey, Cube3
Marketing agency Cube3 has appointed Mark Bailey as its new managing director.
Mark, who joined the company in 2003 as an account executive, will continue focusing on client delivery and operations as he works with Karl Barker, outbound CEO, to ensure the company continues to develop its technology and services..
Karl said: “2017 concluded some big changes for Cube3, which has hugely helped to shape our agency model for the future. The business is now primed for 2018 and I feel it is the right time to step away from the businesses direct operations in the not too distant future.
“Mark has been with me virtually from day one and has been an integral part of the team. His passion, commitment and diligence in delivering excellence for our clients consistently has shone through and is the natural choice to have as Cube3’s next business leader.”

Claire Hamilton, Vincents Solicitors
Vincents Solicitors has chosen Claire Hamilton to lead its office in Chorley.
Claire is a private client solicitor and elderly legal specialist. She joined Vincents from law firm Kirwans.
Her career started in 2005, when she worked as a legal secretary in what is today Vincents’ Penwortham office.
Claire said: “I am so pleased to be heading up Vincents’ Chorley branch. I am Chorley born and bred but have never actually worked in the town until now, so I am really looking forward to having the chance to make a difference in my own community.
“I’ve come full circle since working with the team in Penwortham as a legal secretary, and feel like I’ve ‘come home’ in more ways than one.”
Andrew Bradshaw, GL Hearn
Property and planning advisory firm GL Hearn has appointed a new head of planning for the North West.
Andrew Bradshaw will be based at the company’s Manchester office, where he will lead the planning team to support GL Hearn’s growth agenda in the North West.
He has more than 20 years’ experience in the delivery of residential and mixed-use projects across the public and private sectors.
Andrew said: “I am excited to be joining GL Hearn, using my experience to build on the great work of the existing team to support the company to deliver the ambitions of the Northern Powerhouse and particularly housing growth across the North West.”
GL Hearn MD Alastair Crowdy commented: “We are delighted to have Andrew join us to lead the planning team in Manchester, as part of our planned expansion of GL Hearn Manchester.
“His experience and undoubted expertise will enable us to provide delivery advice to our clients on their development projects as they respond to the strategic needs of the North West.”
Remi Smith and John Gration, GVA
Two new graduates have joined the Liverpool office of GVA.
Remi Smith is currently assisting the firm’s office and industrial team. She is enrolled on a Real Estate Masters course at Liverpool John Moores University.
John Gration, meanwhile, has joined GVA’s valuation consultancy team.
Stephen Cowperthwaite, regional senior director at GVA’s Liverpool base, said: “We’re committed to investing in the future of the business and for us that means nurturing junior members of the team, so that they can progress.
“We continue to have a diverse range of skills and developing talent within the office which is extremely important.”
Following Remi and John’s appointment, there are now five graduates based at GVA’s No. 4 St Paul’s Square office.

Mike Walker, Prest Financial Planning
Stockport-based Prest Financial Planning has appointed Mike Walker in the role of financial planner.
Mike previously worked as a wealth manager, including at national firms Tilney and Close Brothers.
At Prest, his remit will include building his own client portfolio while coordinating the company’s wider marketing activities.
Mike said: “Prest Financial Planning has a great reputation locally as a trusted provider of first-class advice and I am really excited to have joined such an experienced and highly regarded team at a time of rapid expansion.
“Prest has a strong family ethos that permeates the entire firm and the way it treats its staff and clients.”

Chithra Marsh, Buttress
Architecture firm Buttress has expanded its senior team with the appointment of Chithra Marsh as associate director.
Chithra has over 20 years’ post-qualification experience and previously worked for Saunders Architects, leading the firm’s Manchester office and business development activities.
Her experience includes senior roles at Hurd Rolland and 17 years with Broadway Malyan.
At Buttress, Chithra will focus on delivering the practice’s business development strategy.
Gavin Sorby, managing director at Buttress, said: “We are delighted to welcome Chithra to Buttress.
“Her skills, experience and values are well aligned with those of the practice, and her appointment will strengthen our workplace, retail and industrial offer.”
