Veterinary group creates five jobs in Hyde with £250k investment
Veterinary group White Cross Vets is expanding into Hyde with a £250k investment.
The company created five jobs with the opening of its latest branch, located at the junction of Talbot Road and Matley Lane.
The practice includes a number of initiatives to benefit the animals brought in, including pheromone diffusers to make them more relaxed, warm LED lighting in the wards and a separate sound-proofed area for dogs.
Vet Mike Robinson, appointed to the role of clinic director, will lead the Hyde team. He is joined by veterinary nurses Anneliese O’Toole and Aimee Lee.
Mike said: “Tameside is home to an enormous number of pet lovers with dogs and cats providing a huge amount of happiness to local families.
“I’m extremely pleased we’ve been able to help regenerate an area which has stood empty for five years. My team are all highly experienced professionals and bring lots of enthusiasm to their new roles.”
He continued: “When this is combined with the practice’s state of the art technology, there’s no doubt our offering will prove to be hugely popular. We also have the potential to expand the team to approximately 20 people in the next five years, which is an exciting prospect for the local economy.”
The site of the new business, formerly home to the Bay Horse Pub, is currently undergoing a £1.5m redevelopment that includes the opening of a Co-op store.
White Cross Vets employs a 200-strong team across a network of 18 practices.
