Tyneside digital music platform produces £300k worth of income in just four months
The founders behind online video music app, FCP Audio, have generated £300k of revenue and 10,000 sales since launching in November 2017.
The technology, allowing marketers and Youtubers to edit and customise music for their videos, has received numerous downloads in its first four months of trading. With this news, the company is aiming to reach its goal of a £1.5m turnover within three years.
Launched by Newcastle-based music and video producers, Ryan Davidson and Anthony Dow, FCP Audio is a digital music library that offers customisable genre styles of music for people who are familiar with the professional film editing software, Final Cut Pro X.
Reacting to the company’s rapid global rise in popularity, co-founder Ryan Davidson, said: “Since our launch, we have blown all of our targets out of the water month-on-month and our product is being used in over 90 countries.
“As our target market is so niche, we anticipated a longer time frame for our roots to take hold but it seems our niche has in fact worked.
“All of our income is to be reinvested into bigger marketing campaigns so we feel our sales margins will grow exponentially.
“Our product is designed to be user-friendly and we pride ourselves on being true to every style we create, utilising some of the best session musicians and producers in the region.”
The company has said its easy-to-navigate system, which allows both novices and professionals the chance to edit music at their fingertips, is one of the reasons why it has reached various people so quickly.
Ryan believes FCP Audio will be able to roll out its ambitious growth plans way ahead of schedule.
He added: “We feel we are the best solution for high-end, authentic, customisable audio.
“Our team of in-house producers have completed briefs for the National lottery, BMW, Jonny Walker, Microsoft, Spotify and Ubisoft to name a few… Looking ahead, we have plans to make our product cross-platform so that it doesn’t just work with Final Cut Pro X.
“Our app currently installs the audio directly into the FCPX software but we intend to broaden our reach and will be creating new apps to make our service available on all contemporary video editing platforms.”
