Newcastle PR agency creates several jobs branching out into Manchester and Boston

A North East-based pharmaceutical and life sciences agency, ramarketing, is to open a second UK office as the company sets itself up for another hopeful year of major growth.

The firm is branching out into Manchester, expanding its team by 25 per cent with the creation of several new jobs in both the North East and North West regions.

In 2017, the business - specialising in digital, PR and design for international clients - recorded growth figures amounting to 60 per cent and doubled its staff numbers to 20.

With the news of ramarketing’s new base in Spinningfields, Manchester, the group has also announced it has a new office in Boston, USA, which is due to open later this year.

Founder, Raman Sehgal, said: “Since I set up the business in 2009, we have seen steady year-on-year growth on the back of client demand in the UK, Europe and the USA.

“Being able to create more jobs and expand staff numbers in the North of England is very gratifying.

“We hit our 2018 target in 2017, and are predicting significant growth again this year due to our increasingly strong position in the global pharmaceutical and biotech outsourcing space, hence the search for new members of the team.”

The new roles that will be available include a head of operations and a senior marketing manager, plus an agency marketing manager for ramarketing itself, and other PR account management and design positions in both Manchester and its Newcastle head office.

Raman added: “Part of the investment was to open an additional office in the UK and following much research and deliberation, we felt Manchester was by far the ideal place.

“It is such a vibrant city with a thriving life science sector, so is the perfect location for our second UK office.”

The government’s Industrial Strategy for life sciences makes reference to the North’s life science strength.

Raman concluded: “We already have a growing cluster of North West life sciences clients, so we see a lot of potential to expand our foothold in the region and of course create several new roles in time.

“We have signed the lease on premises so the search is on for the finest pharmaceutical and biotech PR, marketing and digital talent that Manchester has to offer.

“Exciting times lie ahead for the business, and we need to make sure we have the right people and the right balance of skills on board to meet our targets.”
