North Yorkshire family run business sets sail in the franchise world with first franchisee now set to expand even further!

Back in 2017 the family-run business, Carol Saunders Swim School, with its head office based in Selby, North Yorkshire, took the plunge and launched its franchise opportunities nationwide. Now six month’s on, their first franchisee is seeing great success and looking to expand classes into a second territory!

Sarah Parsons took the plunge and bought into the franchise back in September 2017 after having worked for the Swim School for 2 years previously. After her second child was born, Sarah decided she wanted more from her future career path and began investigating the possibilities available to her. The Swim School opportunities mean she can run a business with unlimited growth potential, whilst being flexible enough to fit around her family life.

Hands-on support and advice has been a constant from the parent brand since Sarah set up and the development of the business continues to highlight new learnings, but with a strong belief of “you get out what you put in” Sarah is now in a position where she is starting to see great achievements and results from her hard work.

Six months into the venture, Sarah’s Nottingham Swim School is thriving with new swimmers, lessons and even a new pool being added to her portfolio. Working alongside the well-established and thriving brand means her own lessons were given a kick-start and now she is running her own successful business. With 28 lessons running per week and over 110 swimmers with more joining all the time, it has been a busy first 6 months and she is already on the lookout for a second territory…so if you’re considering taking on your own territory you better be quick before Sarah snaps them all up! The benefit of running a franchise means that in any case of uncertainty or emergency, systems and plans are already being set up to overcome potential obstacles, meaning job-uncertainty, progression or business growth isn’t a worry. Thus, allowing the main concentration of the franchisee to be making the business as fun, engaging and interactive as they like. It has also been shown that the success rate of franchises is approximately 90%, where businesses that start from the ground up only show a success rate of 15%!
