Former marine becomes fitness entrepreneur with six-figure funding
A former marine is opening his own gym with six-figure bank funding.
Alex Ivanoff will create six jobs with the launch of an Anytime Fitness centre on Central Square in Maghull.
A £350k funding package from NatWest helped him to purchase the franchise and transform the unit, formerly occupied by value retailer Home Bargains, into a 24-hour gym featuring high-end equipment and studio space.
Once his Maghull facility is established, Alex plans to extend his franchise portfolio by opening up to 10 further locations in the coming years.
He said: “Although my background is in the military, it has always been my ambition to open my own gym business.
“Thanks to the funding from NatWest and the continual support and guidance from their banking team, I have been able to turn my passion for fitness into my own business.”
He added: “I look forward to welcoming our first members through the door and offering them a comfortable environment to train in.”
NatWest relationship manager Sarah Bailey commented: “As soon as you meet Alex his unwavering passion for his business is evident.
“We have enjoyed supporting him with his first business venture and wish him every success in growing his franchise in future.”
