Newcastle market research company celebrates record turnover
North East-based research agency, Explain Market Research has had its most successful year to date, outperforming on its strategic growth plan and delivering a 15 per cent increase in turnover from the previous financial year.
The growth has been credited to significant new client acquisition across core sectors, with a focus on utilities, alongside large scale expansion into new sectors including higher education.
Kim Davis, managing director of Explain Market Research, said: “As well as bringing in new clients from across the UK, our success has also been down to existing client growth through effective client management and illustrating the tangible return on investment that our strategic insights provide.

“Over the last year we have expanded the team, appointing a new commercial director as well as experienced research manager to support our rapid growth.
“We work with high profile clients across the UK including delivering NHS projects nationally and providing insights for Northern Powergrid, SP Energy Networks, National Grid and more.
“We are very proud to have worked with Northumbrian Water Group on research and innovation initiatives for more than 20 years and look forward to what the future of what this relationship will bring.”
Within the next 12 months, the key focus of Explain Market Research will be innovation as gamification continues to be a core growth area for clients, alongside the continuous development of the Explain online community platform which has grown threefold in the past year.
Kim added: “This year, we turn 25-years-old and we will be celebrating throughout the year as well as developing our Explained! insights series of events, where we share best practice and learning for each of our sectors.
