QUEENSWAY DENTAL SUPPORTS FINANCE MANAGER TO ACHIEVE CHARTERED STATUS
FINANCE manager Philip Tadd at Queensway, one of the largest dental and orthodontic clinics in the UK, has been awarded chartered status after successfully completing the prestigious Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification – joining the finest ranks of accounting professionals.
Philip, 30 from Ingleby Barwick was first appointed at Queensway as finance manager in 2010 after graduating from the University of Teesside in Accounting & Finance. In 2012, Philip took the next step in his career by beginning his ACCA course to become a Chartered Accountant, as well as completing an Advanced Diploma in Accounting along the way.
He has completed a number of challenging elements over the past few years to become an ACCA member including 14 exams across various aspects of accounting and finance, two written ethics assignments and a number of 9 Practical Experience Record (PER) assignments, where he applied his new knowledge to a workplace scenario, before submitting to the ACCA.
Dr Paul Averley, managing partner at Queensway Dental said: “We are delighted to announce that Philip has achieved such a high accolade in accounting. Philip has shown a huge amount of dedication to gaining his ACCA qualification with hours of hard work put in. We are confident he will lead the business to sustainable success with his strategic thinking, high ethical integrity and strong financial expertise.”
Philip Tadd, Finance Manager at Queensway added: “Accounting and Finance is something I have always been passionate about, and after finishing my degree and gaining experience in the industry, becoming a professional Chartered Certified Accountant was the logical and credible progression move for my career.
“As a chartered accountant, my knowledge and scope of practice has increased dramatically. Each module from my studies offered something different which I can now apply to my role at Queensway including business analysis, performance management, financial reporting to governance, risk and ethics. All of these areas are vital when heading up the finance department of the entire Queensway group and I’m looking forward to putting the skills learnt into practice over the coming years to strengthen and futureproof the operation.
“Queensway has a proven track record for developing and training staff, leading to us having a highly qualified, multi-disciplinary team which I am very proud to be a part of. This philosophy of constant support in allowing staff to grow and enhance their skillset reaps its rewards and I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey with the business to date.”
