Kids Planet to double nursery portfolio with £6.5m investment
Nursery business Kids Planet has secured a £6.5m investment from funding provider BGF.
The seven-figure backing will enable the Cheshire-headquartered company to double its portfolio of 23 nurseries within the next five years.
BGF’s first investment of £10m in 2016 saw Kids Planet add five new nurseries to its network, including sites in Preston, Stockport, Billinge and Swinton.
The family-owned business has further openings already in the pipeline across Great Sankey, Hoylake, central Manchester and Ellenbrook.
Each new centre will follow Kids Planet’s model of early-years care based on creative play, nutritional meals and educational support.
Clare Roberts, the firm’s CEO, said: “BGF’s support has been crucial in helping us roll-out more sites as we continue to grow.
“Our ambition is to continue to expand and increase the provision of exceptional early-years care across the North of England.”
Pinesh Mehta, from BGF, commented: “John, Clare and the team are growing the business at an impressive rate, while maintaining an absolute focus on quality care and well invested facilities.
“BGF’s follow-on funding into Kids Planet is based on consistently strong performance, and we’re very pleased to be supporting the business as it continues its expansion.”
