Major new city centre office letting at Time Central
A global project management firm has secured a prestigious new North East base.
Turner & Townsend will open a new office in the 82,500 sq ft Grade A city centre building Time Central, Gallowgate, Newcastle moving from its current location at Newcastle’s Bede House to the new 5,228 sq ft premises on the 3rd floor.
The premises have been acquired from Brewin Dolphin, one of the UK’s leading wealth managers, who has been looking to release surplus space in the building. Gavin Black & Partners and JLL acted for Brewin Dolphin and JKPC for the tenants. Richard Bullen, Partner in Cushman & Wakefield’s Newcastle office acted on behalf of the landlord to facilitate the transaction.
JKPC partner Kevan Carrick said: “Turner & Townsend made the decision to look for new North East headquarters and we were delighted to be able to help them find an excellent location that fully met their needs within a matter of weeks. Time Central is in an excellent location and will offer Turner & Townsend the space it needs for its operations.”
Darren Laybourn, director of Turner & Townsend North East Region, said: “I’m delighted at the proactive approach that is being taken by both the principals and their agents, which has provided us with an improved office location and quality of space. A key priority for us is giving clients and employees a high quality, flexible environment to achieve great business outcomes.”
Chris Pearson of Gavin Black & Partners advises that this deal is another example of the rapid take up in the City Centre of Grade A accommodation. “In Time Central we now have just 9,178 sq ft available of top quality refurbished space at a quoting rent of £23.50 psf.
