Lancashire IT firm leverages growth with GDPR offering

North West IT company Q2Q has set its sights on expansion in 2018 on the back of turnover growth.

The Lancaster-headquartered company, which saw sales rise 17% to £950k in 2017, has forecast profits to increase 15% by the end of this year.

Q2Q started this month with 35 managed IT support clients, which is eight more than at the beginning of last year.

Recent client wins for the firm include contracts with two Morecambe-based legal practices, Wright & Lord and Bannister Bates, along with advocacy organisation Ncompass, automation tech company provider IconSys and 130-year-old jewellery retailer Banks Lyon.

Q2Q has also bolstered its offering with new services covering General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) support for SMEs.

So far, the company has added six businesses to its GDPR-only client base, among them accountancy and advisory firm MHA Moore & Smalley and plastics manufacturer Jonesco.

To support growth in this area, Q2Q managing director Andrew Stellakis achieved EU Certified GDPR Practitioner status last July.

He said: “Our expansion over the last 12 months has enabled us to sharpen our existing tools, as well as increase the breadth of non-core IT offerings – most notably our GDPR support.

“We’re putting a greater focus on implementing proactive changes for customers rather than simply keeping systems up and running effectively, and striving to deliver even more value to our clients. Of course, it’s our hard-working, skilled team that makes such improvements possible.”
